Today is the Best Day
So along with the new job, I got new (better than Kaiser?) health insurance with Cigna and with encouragement from my new UCI doctor, I went and got a mammogram for the first time in a long time. That was October 12th. And they found the same spot as before and wanted to do more tests. I scheduled the tests before leaving the office that day not knowing if they would be able to locate my prior images.
This morning before heading off to work in the dark trying to beat the sunrise like a vampire, I talked to my grandma and grandpa's photo I placed next to my bed with some pebbles I painted. I said, " With the power of my grandma and grandpa, I know everything's gonna be all right." So I was scheduled to do those extra tests today, October 20th.
This morning, I was starting the internal mental freakout self talk that nobody needs to hear themselves do. But the crux of it was, and what if it is cancer? Ok, so freaked out, I left my cellphone on the coffee table. The weight of the coins in my change purse made it seem as though it was there, but it wasn't.
I took a half-day off work for these tests. As I was walking to my car to go home for lunch, I felt the ever so slight feeling of nausea gently blow on me like a soft breeze, and then it was gone by the time I got to my car.
So I get home, and find the cell, plug it in to get a good charge and getting ready to go, I check the messages, and I get the alls clear. No extra tests. They found the prior images and compared the one's taken on October 12th and I do not have to take the extra tests today. And it was a relief.
After 157 days self quarantined, I'm working in mortgage again... I got a job.

Veterans Need to be on High Alert when Seeking VA Mortgage Loans
Many finance companies do a good job of providing accurate advertising that generates leads and can be developed into new business. However, the results below, even though well-intentioned, did not meet the criteria set forth by the CFPB.

09/08/2020-I bought guitar stands/had a dream/nightmare.
I bought two guitar stands:
Yesterday was a day I cruised the Facebook Marketplace at work and while doing so, found two guitar stands like the ones I was looking for online to buy. $10 each was hard to beat. And the communication exchange with the seller was not perfect, but we got the deal done and then he gave me the address for the pick-up after (I get off of work) at 5PM.
I wanted to know exactly where I was going for this trip after work, so I break out the google maps and see that the address is a brewery/bar. And I'm confused because I thought all of the bars were closed and my mind starts worrying about the worst things that can happen and wondering why this guy would ask me to meet him at a bar.
As I'm walking to my car in the parking structure, for my personal safety in case this transaction goes down badly, I tell myself, self, I should text the address I'm going to for the pick-up to my son so he at least knows where I'm going if I don't make it home. He would have that address to give to the police.
Anyway, the pick-up location is not that far away from work, so I'm able to take surface streets there. I get to the address and the parking is terrible on the street, so I opt to park in a private lot and dare the tow truck to come hook-up my rig and ferry it away. I'm trying to be a careful person and be concerned for my personal safety, so I only take my keys and the cash to pay for the purchase trying to avoid a purse snatching. I find the address and no one is waiting. He said he would be at home all day when I texted him, but low and behold, he's not home.
I walk down this dead end street noticing that there seems to be cameras on every building (which is kind of creepy to me and whether they work or not, I don't know.) to find that there's an automatic gate at the back of a large apartment complex and so now I get what he was saying about controlled access to the complex was making sense. I text the Facebook Marketplace seller to find out that he's now at a buddy's house restringing a guitar and he has to text his girlfriend to get me the gear and meet me at the gate.
OK, so now I feel I can just wait without all most of the horrible fear scenarios that are swirling in my head by this time, but it still doesn't change the fact that I'm a woman standing by my self at the end of a dead end street waiting for god knows what to happen, but all I want is the guitar stands.
The exchange is made, no problem, and then I shuffle my ass to my car parked in that private lot with all the cameras as quickly as possible. I see a guy on his cellphone at the driveway entrance and if this is supposed to be security calling for the tow truck, buddy, you're out of luck. I'm on my way home with two guitar stands after a somewhat nerve-wracking experience.
I also had a dream/nightmare:
So the address that I was provided for the pick-up being at a brewery/bar was the trigger point for my head to spin numerous scenarios into overdrive. Then the dream/nightmare happened that night...
Would he meet me at the front of the bar;
or in the bar;
would he buy me a drink and would the drink be laced with roofies;
if I take my purse with me would it be stolen;
when I wake up where would I be;
I don't remember how I get here;
where is here;
I can't seem to talk in clear sentences;
I'm in a room that is covered floor to ceiling in drapery fabric;
I think I put my purse down to hide it, but I don't remember. Maybe a guy slid it off of my shoulder?People keep coming in and checking on me, but I'm so drugged up, it's not a good scene. My head is not clear. Where am I and how did I get here? And how do I get away? Where is my purse? In the background I hear a party going on and music. A lady opens the door, steps one foot in the room smiles and holds out a drink for me. I drink it, the whole thing, quickly because I'm so thirsty from being in this room with all of the drapes, she shuts the door hard, and I have fallen to the floor drugged again and I black out.
This is my mind playing tricks on me, not reality and I have never in my life allowed myself to be so out of control and drunk/drugged like in the dream.
And then I wake up from the dream having slept poorly because my house is so hot being its the end of summer.

Fooling Yourself
This is a song that I have loved since it came out in 1977, but there was always one line that eluded me. I guess I could have looked it up on the internet years ago, but by listening to the live versions of Tommy Shaw singing his tune, I finally figured it out. And now I don't have to sing, "You can hide little lamb, put your care in your yam."
(Relax... easy.)
You see the world through your cynical eyes
You're a troubled young man, I can tell
You've got it all in the palm of our hand
But your hands wet with sweat and your head needs a rest
And you're fooling yourself if you don't believe it
You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it.
Why must you be such an angry young man
When your future looks quite bright to me
And how can there be such a sinister plan
That could hide such a man, such a caring young man <-- the elusive line.
[Chorus]
And you're fooling yourself if you don't believe it
You're killing yourself if you don't believe it
Get up! (Get up!) Get back on your feet.
You're the one they can beat and you know it.
Come on! (Come on!) Let's see what you've got.
Just take your best shot and don't blow it.

Day 48 on "Stay At Home " order and yet on the job hunt

I liked some of the questions that they posed, but are they ethical? I mean, how I spend my time outside of working hours is really none of the employers business. It's the behaviors that I exhibit during work hours that they are paying for.

Manifestation
It was kind of brought on by the uke. It's leading me to the bass.
The bass, the bass, the bass.
And now just this week, I've got these bass players the of the extraordinary kind popping up in my youtube, Instagram, and Facebook that I've never really encountered on that level in any significant way before but I'm not searching them out either. And it's cool, but it's also weird.
Leland Sklar - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs5yDeiOgkyRZGZGphlSbIw
and some of his history here: http://guitarcostum23.blogspot.com/2015/01/lee-sklar-bass-guitars.html
Mike Watt - http://www.hootpage.com/
This week, I talked to Kenny (my dad died in 2005 and then Kenny kinda popped up and into my life and he happens to be a musician in his own right) about a jazz guitar that was for sale on Nextdoor. And I thought it was such a shame that the seller didn't know what it was. I thought maybe it was a Washburn due to the "W" on the tremolo bar, but no. Then, because of its shape, I thought maybe it was a Gibson, getting warmer because Gibson does manufacture jazz guitars. But no. And then I finally found a matching photo and figured out this crazy looking guitar was a Barney Kessel Norma after searching the term "vintage guitars". Once I found that out, I was "down the rabbit hole" finding out additional information about who he was, his equipment, what he worked on, who he played with, his videos on youtube, and figuring out how hard it would be to locate replacement knobs for a guitar that might be older than I am.
I learned the term "chickenhead knob". It's similar but different to the part I was looking for.
So I told Kenny my first guitar was a 3/4 guitar with nylon strings. My whole thing is I've got these small hands and I have a hard time playing normal-sized stringed instruments, so I remember having fun playing that guitar and remembering that I was drawn to the ukulele and now the bass. He suggested that I forget the interesting looking jazz guitar, and go find an EB-0 bass because it's my size and might be more playable i.e. more enjoyable.
- The last Gibson EB-0 was made in 1979.
- Epiphone discontinued its EB-0 and EB-3 models just this year (2020).
- Also known as a short-scale bass, Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro

Dream: April 16th, 2020: Day 28 0-Stay- At-Home EO
The next thing that happened is that I'm waking up/gaining consciousness in a waiting area sitting in a hall in a chair with black cushions and square metal arms and sides. All of these chairs are lined up in one straight line, but far apart from each other. I'm sitting in this comfy leather chair, but my pants are down as if I'm waiting to relieve myself in the restroom and I look down at what I'm wearing and I see peanuts and peanut shells all over me. I look to my left down the hall and I see an Indian man in a lab coat standing, holding a door open by him leaning against it with his arms crossed for a long time. I try and pull my pants up while staying seated, sweep the peanut mess off of me and start walking the halls all around the same floor to other clinic stations, but they are dark and no one is there.

#Hope
Is it May 2, or is it going to be May 15th, we don't know yet, but it what it sounds like to me is the governor is trying to head off a huge recession in the state in an election year.
Yep, sounds like politics.
In the meantime, I'm still looking for a job.
I have until June 26th AKA 90 days from the close of the job posting to wait it out to see if I'm going to get another job working for the government after being recommended to be hired.
Like Tom Petty says, "The waiting is the hardest part."
Where's the money? Is it coming??
If you are unemployed in California...
https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/unemployment-checks-with-600-boost-rolling-out-this-week/2272524/
So it's supposed to be your UI award plus $600 per week for four months.
My max award started on 3/22/2020.
About the federal stimulus check:
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments
A one-time payment of $1200 for single status filers, no dependents. My son's father owes me back child support so his federal stim money is supposed to go to me, even if he considers himself disabled. We'll see how that plays out.
Today is day 26 staying at home with no job and I've seen no money yet. I mean, I'm marking it on my calendar each morning.

John Prine, "When I Get to Heaven"
When I get to heaven
I'm gonna shake God's hand
Thank him for more blessings
Than one man can stand
Then I'm gonna get a guitar
And start a rock and roll band
Check into a swell hotel
Ain't the 'afterlife' grand!
And then I'm gonna get a cocktail
Vodka and ginger ale
Yeah, I'm gonna smoke a cigarette
That's nine miles long
I'm gonna kiss that pretty girl
On the tilt a whirl
'Cause this old man is going to town
Then as God as my witness
I'm gettin' back into show business
I'm gonna open up a nightclub called
'The Tree of Forgiveness'
And forgive everybody
Ever done me any harm
I might even invite a few choice critics
Those syphilitic parasitics
Buy 'em a pint of Smithwick's
And smothert'em with my charm
'Cause then I'm gonna get a cocktail
Vodka and ginger ale
Yeah, I'm gonna smoke a cigarette
That's nine miles long
I'm gonna kiss that pretty girl
On the tilt a whirl
Yeah this old man is going to town
Yeah when I get to heaven
I'm gonna take
That wristwatch off my arm
What are you gonna do with time
After you've bought the farm
And them I'm gonna go find my mom and dad
And good old brother Doug
Well I bet him and cousin Jackie
Are still cuttin' up a rug
Wanna see all my mama's sisters
'Cause that's where all the love starts
I miss 'em all like crazy
Bless their little hearts
And I always will remember
These words my daddy said
He said, "Buddy, when you're dead
You're a dead peckerhead"
I hope to prove him wrong
That is ... when I get to heaven
'Cause I'm gonna have a cocktail
Vodka and ginger ale
Gonna smoke a cigarette
That's nine miles long
I'm gonna kiss that pretty girl
On the tilt a whirl
Yeah this old man to going to town
Yeah this old man is going to town

Connecting the Dots?
At some point, you'll just watch just about anything to pass the time. I was at that point yesterday. I turned on my local PBS station which has morphed into an education channel for LAUSD they called "At-Home Learning".
It's raining so much now. And a show I was watching yesterday said that heavy rains can be caused by smoke in the air [1]. And then I thought could it be that China is having so very many cremations that they are polluting the air even more so than before and that a mass of air with all of it's particulate is moving over the Pacific Ocean collecting moisture and bringing so much rain now in April to California.
And the health officials are now telling us that everyone must wear some sort of facial protection.
Yeah, so jumping to conclusions in a nutshell: If you don't catch coronavirus and die, the bad rainy weather we're experiencing now could be caused by mass cremations in China after others infected by the virus died and now you're breathing in dead people.
If that's not information that will keep you indoors, I don't know what will.
