I dreamt Freddie Mercury was singing this to his cats in the morning.

https://www.onlinepianist.com/virtual-piano

Chorus

Today is gonna be a good day

A#3 c4 d#4               F4     D#4  C4 A#3

Today is gonna be a good day

Today is gonna be a good day

Today is gonna be a good day!

I woke up... six feet above the ground

to the sunshine, some coffee, and my cats all around!

And my friends, they called me on the phone

telling me the show last night was the best they've ever known <--work on this?

Santa Ana 12/09

I couldn't bring myself to drive further than home after having a sneezing/farting fit in my car at the Santa Ana Main Place Mall after dropping off my last pax.

As I was leaving the mall after relieving myself, I felt like my holiday sensibilities were assaulted. Too many different Christmas songs were playing and blending into each other as I walked through the southend. Too many sales signs, too much fake snow in the windows advertising cold weather gear in style for the next two minutes. All this marketing for 20-30 somethings with their kids. After all, Christmas is a commercial holiday for kids first and foremost.

Orange Julius is gone. Whatever restaurant I wrote about that used to be next to the restroom hall was gone. the FYE is now a Chico's. Change is good, right? If it's for the better, but change for change's sake may not be. We'll see.

I drove myself home and put myself to bed, but not after noting that I'm out of canned cat food and having some throat thing to the degree that my son was in my room asking how he could help. I drank the last of the lemonade I made earlier by the glass and fell fast asleep.

It's 2 AM and the cat is stirring. I watched the end of whatever Carson Daily show music something Bare Hand - shocked I even recognize who is playing but it's only due to the fact that one of the three XM Satellite radio stations I play frequently throughout my travels is an alternative station that plays this same band.

It's 3AM and now I'm stirring. Trying to find fresh meat and vegetables on sale in the digital ad that I clicked on from Grocery Outlet. And I can't. Not to the degree that I'm accustomed to in a full service supermarket. I look, again, and the two products that are most attractive in this ad are Pacific Natural Food Beef Broth and Amy's Chunky Vegetable soup with a runner up of maybe the Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn, but at $.69, that seems high. This Pacific brand I've seen for sale at my local Sprouts. I already bought two cans of the soup from my run there prior to Thanksgiving. That was 20 some-odd days ago?

It's 4AM and now the cat is giving me all of the tell tail signals that she is hungry and wants me to feel her canned cat food and we're out. The signal is the tongue to the upper lip. We trained her to do that and respond to the term numnums. And the stores around here don't open until 6AM. So I'm searching the internet trying to figure out where is the closest store to be that's open at this ungodly hour that would actually have the one and only variety of canned cat food she eats. I was sorely disappointed at the Walmart on Technology the other day because: 1) no canned car food she eats, and 2) I had to wait to go to the one restroom they have in the front. So I drove away feeling lighter, but with no cat food which was the day I should have bought it.

By 5AM, it's still darks but I'm resolved to obtain canned cat food before I turn into can food myself in the eyes of my cat. I have decided that the Anaheim Walmart that's open 24 hours is more attractive than anything else right now so I get ready and go. And I locate the pet aisle and the variety of canned cat food she eats and I purchase every can they have on the shelf. I am certainly not the cat lady of Tustin as my son likes to tease me about, because I only have one cat, but I feel like it buying all of these cans all at once. Screw what other people think.

There are very few times in your life where what other people think really matter. When you're tested, when you screw up, when someone is paying you to do something and maybe your parents to verify they've produced a compassionate, relatively happy, productive human being. I'm wearing denim jeans, sneakers, a grey v-neck t shirt and my big winter coat because that's what I feel a 5AM store run is supposed to look like from my perspective. And I drive in silence and I get home, grab the mail from the week and go feed the cat and them make me some tea to start my day.

I have to somehow make up for a shitty Friday night's pay for getting ill at around 6PM.

Invasion of the...

Possums!I think there were two.  My son, who is now home on summer break from college, keeps the sliding glass door open so that my two cats can run in and out as they please. I guess, after living at my home  for twelve XII years, other critters ( ,  ) in the neighborhood have now figured out my dry cat food, which is always available to my cats  on the dining room floor, can be accessed from my sliding glass door. Not good. The last thing I wanted to tackle on a Friday  night was varmint eradication, but there I was. Sitting at my computer , I wanted to knock out three III entries on my blog of things that have been rolling around in my head  in one form or another and I hear this ravenous crunching... NOM NOM NOM! My one cat was laying at my feet  under the computer chair and I turn around to see the other cat in the hallway staring at me. So what was eating the cat food so loudly? I walked into the kitchen and I saw a possum  eating from the cat food dispenser!  I yelled at it and then it ran out of the house . I shut the sliding glass door and kept it closed for the rest of the evening . I fell sleep on the couch after watching tv . At about 3AM , I walked into my bedroom  in order to the bathroom  and I hear an intense scratching sound coming from the inside of the ikea cat bed . I tilted the cat bed on it's side and saw a possum's tail  hanging down. At this point I thought I had an infestation! I opened the sliding glass door in my bedroom and chucked the ikea cat bed outside onto the patio. The second possum  scampered away into the darkness .

Terrorism

I'm convinced my cat is a part of a terrorist plot against me. I can sit in my computer chair at my computer desk in the living room anytime of the day or night and all of the sudden a fuzzy white cat will appear out of no where on my lap vying for my attention.

Let me remind you that that cat furr and computers do not mix. I especially hate getting it into the nooks of my new HP keyboard or in my ancient Trackman marble mouse.

Nuts

Ever since I took over the credit reporting for the company I work for, my days have been consumed with other peoples problems. I'm not sure if I like it much. I was getting headaches the first couple of days I was working on my own. At least those have subsided.

I ate breakfast and lunch today so by the time dinner rolled around, I was hungry again - too hungry to go home and make dinner for myself, so I went to El Pollo Loco after getting some cash at the ATM.

My son was home by the time I got there and that was unexpected. He skipped class today. I hate when he does that. I've paid for all of his college this semester, so it's my feeling he should GO!

I threw an almond at one of my cats to see what it would do. It stared at kernel for awhile. The cat pushed it around a bit, sniffed, then stared at again. My son and I were eating the same almonds from across the room. I know the cat was getting hungry because she licked her lips, but she didn't eat the nut.

And what is up with this crappy ass gray dingy bull shit weather again? I am so ready for Spring and Summer to be here. It drizzled on my car this morning. A clear sign for me not to take the train.

So Wednesday I'm supposed to go out for drinks with people from work and then Thursday I think I'm having dinner with a friend in Long Beach - I think. The last time we planned it, the plans fell through at the last minute which leads me to believe that it's probably going to happen again. *Sigh*

A Memorial Weekend

It's 6-something in the morning on Sunday and I was up before the dawn watering my tomato plant which looks successful up to this point, checking the cat water and food and brushing my teeth. I am sick of my clutter which I am coming to find out is so much less than what it could be compared to what other people's ideas of what clutter is but yet unacceptable to me because it's an in-my-face example of disorganization and I don't consider myself to be a disorganized person. I usually have things put in their special place so I can find them again and my clutter breaks that trend and creates a certain amount of havoc and frustration in my life. Once, I was trying to cope with my clutter by saying I was out growing my condo since I have lived here for ten years as of March. Once even, I tried to justify that I was just too tired to deal with it due to me dealing with a cronic disease let alone my daily grid. But after watching an episode of Clean House from St. Louis, I felt like, yeah, I could kind of relate as well as agree to the fact that I'll do things to make myself feel good and not necessarily the things that need to be done because they are not fun and considered chores. And so my slightly cluttered ways continue to a degree.

I'd decided that I need to locate my paperwork from the last time I put together a loan submission package while applying for a refi and I need to locate my notary certificate. I think these documents are located within two plastic gray trays of assorted clutter that at one time landed on my desk, but now that the desk has been changed and organized, have been relocated into my gray trays. These gray trays were once considered under the bed storage when I first moved into my condo. They are actually trays from Smart and Final like the ones bus boys use to clear your table after having eaten in a restaurant. They were cheaper than plastic bins specially made to be under the bed storage and I'll go cheap if it's functional so that's why I bought them. I think there are 6-8 floating around in various areas of my condo, but for the most part I believe they have been retired to the right corner stacked up in the bottom of my closet waiting to be utilised again.

I am determined to create a save or throw pile comprised of the things in my two clutter bins before I go and read the newspaper this morning. I don't actually read the entire paper. I don't think anyone does these days. I rather skim for what I find as interesting and then read that article and then continue skimming again to the next subject that sparks my mind. I love to go through the ads. I think it's for the color but moreover to find a bargain. I love the Target ads, even though we know that Walmart has better prices and for this reason, rarely produces a paper ad.

I'm procrastinating now about going through the rest of the bins since I have found my loan submission package and have calculated my interest rate change. I'm looking forward to the rate drop as I have a hybrid note that I don't even think they offer anymore and will adjust to be lower than my start rate, or so I hope. Now on to locate that certificate.

I barbecued hamburgers yesterday which came out excellent. I also made homemade salsa as well. Yum. Even though I went to Sprouts and Ralph's and spent $95, I need to go to the grocery store again because my pantry has been depleted and I need cereal and milk.

My neighbors are entirely too noisy for this time of day.

3AM Cat Dance

As I was going through last weekends newspaper, this idea popped into my mind that people should take a queue from nature and be more like their pets. Take my cat, for example. Girlie decided 3AM was the appropriate time to wake up. She danced around on my bed, nuzzled with me for awhile, then got up and got a drink of water. She straightened up up the fur left ruffled after I scratched her little. She then went out side, went to the bathroom and did some stretches. After letting me know she wanted to come back inside, she got a snack and went back to bed.

I wasn't even half as productive as my cat was this morning. I couldn't sleep anymore after my cat woke me up dancing all mover me and my bed so I turned on the TV and watched some news. I figured out what I wanted to wear today and then put some laundry away. I located my shoes and last weekends newspaper I didn't find the time to go through and took out all of the coupon sections and the target flyer because I love Target. I also browsed the Pacific Sales flyer for ideas and deals. As well as looked at what stuff Fry's was selling on the back of the sports section that I probably don't need all that much.I also segregated out the Parade because I like my information delivered to me in little bits and pieces so this mag suites me fine in that respect. I somehow managed to make my self a bowl of oatmeal in the microwave and eat that, but it was so early in the morning, I don't remember where.

And then I decided to re-use the bag from what covered last weekends newspaper instead of throwing away and make it into a kitty poo from the box holder. Cleaned that stinker out and knotted up the one end of the bag and now my dining area is much, much fresher smelling.
